LEGAL NOTICE NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is designed to provide nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals to children during summer vacations, interim and off-track time periods. The SFSP provides meals at approved sites to children 18 years of age and younger. A sponsor may operate many different types of sites including an open site, enrolled site, residential summer camp, and a nonresidential summer camp. In order to become a SFSP sponsor, an organization must: Be a (1) public or non-profit school authority; (2) public or non-profit private residential summer camp; (3) unit of local, municipal, or county government; (4) private non-profit organization. Demonstrate financial and administrative capability. Have adequate personnel for monitoring and managing sites to comply with civil rights requirements. Attend training by the state administering agency and provide training of all SFSP personnel. Enter into a written agreement with the Utah State Office of Education Child Nutrition Programs.
