REQUEST FOR CONTRACTOR PREQUALIFICATION PROPOSALS The South Valley Water Reclamation Facility (Owner) requests general contractor prequalification proposals for construction of the Thermal Drying Facility Foul Air and Solids Handling Building Drainage System Replacement Project (Project). Only those firms that are pre-qualified by the Owner will be allowed to submit a bid on this project. The Project consists of construction of the Thermal Drying Facility Foul Air and Solids Handling Building Drainage System Replacement Project, complete and operational. The project includes two general areas of work as follows: Thermal Drying Facility Foul Air System This work includes installation of approximately 1500 linear feet of new Sch. 10 Type 304 8" and 10" diameter stainless steel piping, fittings, valves, supports, connections, wall/floor/roof penetrations, etc., new centrifugal blowers, new foul air treatment unit, new aerial piping bridges and supports, new variable frequency drives for positive displacement blowers, new instruments and related work and materials required for a complete and working installation. The new piping will connect to existing foul air lines in the Thermal Drying Facility and run from there through the Solids Handling Building, Dissolved Air Floatation Thickener Building and to Bioreactor No. 2 where the piping will connect to existing air piping. The lines will be used to convey foul air from the TDF to the bioreactor for disposal. Existing centrifugal blowers in the TDF will be replaced with new units with higher horsepower and pressure capacity to convey the foul air from there to the new Foul Air Treatment Unit that will be installed in the Solids Handling Building. The foul air treatment unit will remove moisture from the air to reduce corrosive effects on the existing positive displacement blowers in the DAFT building. Those blowers will provide the pressure required to convey the foul air to the bioreactor for discharge through submerged diffusers. New variable frequency drives will be provided for the blowers to enable them to match the delivery rate and pressure requirement for the foul air being delivered by the new centrifugal blowers. Odor causing constituents of the foul air will be metabolically degraded by microorganisms in the mixed liquor in the bioreactor and incorporated into the cellular mass. Two aerial bridges will support the foul air piping as it crosses: 1) from the Solids Handling Building to the DAFT Building; and 2) from the DAFT Building to Bioreactor No. 2. Solids Handling Building Drainage System This work includes replacement of the existing exposed 4"-12" diameter cast iron pipe drainage system suspended in the lower floor area of Solids Handling Building (circa 1987) with similar or alternative piping materials. The drainage lines serve the upper floor process areas of the building. Existing pipe supports are to be re-used. The foul air lines described above run directly through the general area of the drainage lines and work must be scheduled and coordinated accordingly. Approximately 500 linear feet of piping are to be installed, plus fittings, couplings, hardware and related work and materials required for a complete and working installation. All interested general contractors should obtain a Contractor Pre-qualification Packet from SVWRF located at 7495 South 1300 West, West Jordan City, UT 84084, telephone (801) 566-7711. There is no charge for the packet. Packets will be available til 5 PM thru April 10, 2013. Submitted packets are due April 11, 2013 by 2:00 PM. Interested parties may contact Taigon Worthen with South Valley Water Reclamation Facility. Mr Worthen may be contacted by telephone or email at (801) 495-5469 or tworthen@svwater.com. 868819 UPAXLP
